Minutes:

We had a good KarnaGoshthi meeting this Sunday. Although attendance was low and only six people were present we did make some good progress and presence of Aashutosh ji worked like a Sanjeevani . Aashutosh ji also provided teleconferencing facility which further helped in meeting, although we could not connect everyone. From next time onwards if not everyone can connect via telephone then at least we will split meeting in two part one via chat and one via telephone.

We did make some solid plans for our on going  effort. Following are the summary of what we discussed

1. We are going to sponsor students financially. At least we are going to sponsor one student but we may sponsor more than one students (up to four-five) if we have deserving students and funds.  We have yet to decide on amount as well as other details.

2. All the KarnaGoshthi members please take this seriously and send application of candidate you think are suitable for getting this scholarship. Send one or two students who according to you are deserving both based on talents as well as need. Our committee (yet to be formed) will review all the applications and then recommend students for scholarship.

Please keep in mind that we are serious in our effort and trying to do  a very sincere effort to reach and help deserving students. If given to a real deserving student this can be a turning point for that student . Also it is our responsibility to make sure that fund is utilized in right manner so that more and more people will come forward to help.

We have decided 15th May 2005 as CUT-OFF date for receiving applications for the scholarship . But we encourage everyone to try their best and send name of students as soon as possible

I am attaching an application form  format to be filled by student and endorsed by a KarnaGoshthi member.

3. Aashutosh ji has suggested a very ambitious plan of supporting students through some kind of mentoring process through our help. We are sorry that we could not discuss this in detail due to shortage of time.

Aashutosh ji if in a detailed mail you can write about your plan and idea that will be really great . We will get some feedback and also we can discuss this in more detail.

4. Aashutosh ji and Indu ji also brought point about how to help some one for  purposes other than education like illness , marriage etc.  I think we will need to work on that more in our future meetings.

5. Due to time constraints and our other responsibilities it is not possible that all members will attend all the meeting. Although we encourage all the members to try their best to attend this meeting , we should move forward and make decisions even if only small number of members are present in meeting. The decision taken by members present will be assumed to have concurrence of other members. If any one want to question or object they can do it in next few days and we may revise decision.. The idea is SHOW MUST GO ON IN ALL CASE.

6. MONEY TALKS We will need funds while  moving forward. Unless we have  reasonable resource nothing concrete can be done. Several members have come forward with their  support. We encourage more  members to come forward and help. Also keep in mind that NO HELP IS SMALL . You can contribute any amount (e.g 100 Rs or 10 Rs / month is acceptable and very much appreciated).

7.  Next meeting will be Saturday 7th May 2005 at 9.00 AM (6.30PM Indian Time) . Everyone (Specially members in India) suggest  a suitable time for meeting if the current time is not suitable to them.
