same platform
- to be resourceful to each other
- to help those in need
- to help eradicate the social evils (in order to
do this we will have to identify the prevailing evils)
- to implement more efficient matrimonial solution
for the community
Kaushal ji identified that it is good to take an
initiative, but it is more important to keep it going,
sustain it, and continue the momentum.
It was identified and emphasized by all that the
following are required to be done immediately:
- membership drive. Please collect the email-ids of
as many members you can. Please encourage the members
to join the group and check the website regularly.
Encourage the community members living in Mithila also
to become members and enjoy the power of the internet.
Action item (All): please get as many email-ids you
can.
- collecting feedback, evaluating it, and acting
upon accordingly
- more participation from the members
2(a). Short term goals
-----------------
Website:
--------
- launch of the website. Indu ji has built the
website (www.karnagoshthi.org). It's open for the
members (as of compilation of these minutes). All the
members are requested to please visit the website, and
add their info. Go to the right, click on "Add" under
the Members. After adding u can see the entries by
clicking on the Directory.
While browing, keep
the following in mind:
-- enlarge to full screen
-- all forms should work fine.
-- this website is to be filled by members only.
the
main section is "contribute contents" (top
frame). as
members submit contents through using this form,
that
will show up on its respective section.
- Please upload the profiles of the bride and
bridegroom under the Matrimonial section
- Provide educational and job opportunities for
the members living both in India and abroad.
Yahoo chatroom:
---------------
Dr Mithilesh ji suggested to create yahoo
chatroom for the members so that we can meet the
members in the chatroom whenever we feel like, and
even do the next conference with the members around
the globe in this chatroom.
Action item: get yahoo-id of the members, create
the chatroom, and inform the members. (Anand ji and
Saurabh ji, can we assign this action item to you --
to be done by the December 20, 2004, thanks)
2(b). Medium and long term goals:
---------------------------
Fundraising:
-----------
- Fundraising, so that we could help those in
need.
We will have to register karnagoshthi as
"Non-Profit organization", and open bank account
before we do any fundraising.
Action item: members with accounting /
auditing background to provide their valuable inputs
as to how to go about this.
Panji
-----
- Work towards building "Panji online". we will
have to be respectful to the delicacies of it. So far,
the traditional "Panji" and matchmaking (or help in
matchmaking) has been the bread and butter for the
"panjikaars". We may have to consider offering
"royalty" kind of thing for their willingness to
provide the contents of the traditional "Panji"
Action items: Prime: Shree Saurabh ji and
Shree Ananad ji
- Bawan ji has volunteered to get the copy of
"Panji" for the Nepal segment.
- When "Panji online" becomes a relity, we can
put efforts to make it more popular. This can become a
very good tool for matchmaking, and we can even put a
nominal fee to use it. This will help us generate fund
for the worthy causes.
Family events and mahila maNDal
--------------------------------
- The ladies can play significant role in
organizing family events for the members residing in
closeby places.
- Recipe for the traditional Mithila cuisines or
the latest food styles and varieties. Bhajan-Keertan,
Gosaawanik geet, etc.
